SOA-AOC e-Symposium 2021

Theme : Myopia Management and Orthokeratology

It was an eventful two half-day webinar (4-5 May 2021) and the first time that SOA collaborated with AOC to conduct this regional e-Symposium. This is the first AOC e-Symposium series in 2021.

We were honoured to have Prof. Serge Resnikoff, Chair, International Myopia Institute, and Ms Amanda Davis, Chairperson of International Agency of Preventable Blindness, to address us in the opening presentations as they shared about the roles of Optometrists in Myopia Management, and in prevention of vision impairment and blindness.

It was a privilege to host 180 delegates from Singapore, 160 from Malaysia, 263 from the Philippines, and over 200 delegates from various countries / territories. (Including China, Japan, Korea, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, USA, Thailand, Australia, Fiji, Taiwan, India and Vietnam).

Our LIVE broadcast in China received about 2000 delegates attending this webinar.

The topics are curated to help any eye care practitioner who is keen to go beyond vision correction to a holistic approach when it comes to myopia management. The participants gained much from the sharing from the leading experts in myopia and orthokeratology. Latest research and development were presented and discussion panels were set to debate on ideas and methodologies to improve standard of care for our patients. We hope the knowledge and skills obtained from the experienced practitioners and the leaders will be impactful to all delegates in integrating myopia management in their practice.
